Home Hardman Blog About Us Videos Live-Climb

Below are a few videos that we took on our trip to Yosemite in September 2012.
We leared a lot about climbing on granite on that trip.
One thing for sure is that the views are amazing and the granite faces, cracks and flakes are difficult but at the same time, fun to climb on.

The videos below are all real time and so are a bit slow to watch but are interesting if you want to know more about the style of climbing there.

The loud scratching noise is me attempting to smash up my Drift helmet cam. Funny how much you hit your head when you put expensive stuff on it.

This is the "5.7" first pitch of the Rostrum. The first time I went through that, I was expecting a 5.7 (15) and I got badly stung. This time, it took me less time but it still was rediculously hard for a supposedly easy pitch.

The second pitch of the Rostrom was great fun. Once past the scary start (which I missed here), it is full of great hand jamming and easy laybacks.

When Alex and I did the Rostrum, we were lucky enough to have a couple of great guys tailing us.
Tom managed to cleanly do all the pitches from the big ledge up. Here he is working his way up the nice 10c (20) hand crack of pitch 5.
